Tiff's Sabbatical Experience

Tiffany Brynn, Group Creative Director

5 weeks after 5 years

Reflecting on 5 years at XDS… how do I begin? My journey from Digital Strategist to Creative Group Director has been filled with twists & turns full of learning opportunities. I truly love working on a team with so much diverse knowledge & so many unique design projects to solve. Infusing our designs with a data-driven strategy & seeing them through to launch is very satisfying Whenever I’m asked about my favorite parts of working at XDS, one of my go-to responses is the opportunities provided for growth. I’ve been able to strengthen my skill set in my passion area of user experience design throughout my tenure while learning hands-on creative strategy & leadership. Working in a design studio provides so much ongoing inspiration; I can’t wait to continue growing alongside of XDS.

I’m also thankful for the 5 weeks off to rest, explore & spend time with loved ones. (Spoiler alert – I ate so much lobster & can’t wait to go back to Belize one day)

I reveled in a week of paradise at a Turtle Sanctuary private island off the coast of San Pedro, Belize – I spent my time snorkeling, eating fresh seafood & soaking in all the brilliant shades of blue around me.

Next up was exploring the Pacific Northwest via the Amtrak Cascades route from Portland OR, up to Vancouver, Canada. My highlight of Vancouver was the suspension bridges through the temperate rainforests with some of the freshest air I’ve ever breathed.

I logged plenty of time at my pottery studio in Seattle creating with a medium that allows me to imagine & build in new ways. I also played tourist with visiting family, soaking up the local art museums – a highlight of which is the Chihuly studio glass museum (seen above)

Having a sabbatical enabled me to come back refreshed, renewed & ready to tackle the rest of 2024. Thank you XDS!
